Anointing & Pastoral Care of the Sick

The Church teaches that the sick should ask for the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick at the onset of serious illness.  This sacrament is offered for those preparing for major surgery or who are seriously ill.  The Sacrament can be given in a hospital, assisted living facility, or the person’s home.  Please call the office at (904) 264-0577 to request a priest to administer the Sacrament of Anointing.

For persons who are unable to come to Sunday Mass, the parish makes every attempt to bring Holy Communion to them.  If you or someone you know is in this situation, please call the parish office.  This includes those who are homebound for any reason, those in nursing homes and those in hospitals.

It is very important that a priest or deacon is informed when a parishioner is in the hospital because present laws do not allow the hospital to notify the parish.
